🌑 New Moon

This is the perfect time for setting intentions, tuning into your business, and making plans for the future. But remember to also rest and recharge. This lunation is less about action and more about future visioning and planning.

🪄 Spell Work Create a sigil for your intention. This can be any shape that represents your intention for yourself. Maybe an open eye if your goal is to get to know your client better. Or a pencil if your intention is to communicate consistently with your audience. Put the sigil somewhere you can see it — a post-it note will do! Or you can carve it into a candle and burn that candle throughout this lunar cycle.
🧠 Practical Magic Do some ideal client research and plan your content calendar (podcast episodes, newsletters, social posts) for this lunar cycle. You don’t have to write them all out, but choose an overall theme and some weekly subtopics that align with your intention.
📝 Journal Prompts (inner work) What does my ideal client really need from me right now? What do I feel super called to give? Where’s the sweet spot where what I want to give aligns with what my client needs? What obstacles might get in the way and how can I plan for that in advance?
🎨 Content Prompt (external share) Remember that your potential clients are also in a new moon phase. When you send newsletters or social posts during this time, ask them what intentions they’re setting. For example, if you’re a food blogger, you can ask them what their food goals are this month — eat out less? Meal plan? Invite them to envision the future with you.

🌘 Waxing Crescent

This phase is like a spark. A sliver of light on the hardwood floor from a door that’s just creaked open. We don’t yet know who’s opening it or where it leads, but we’re intrigued. Commit to imperfect daily actions and practical magic.

🪄 Spell Work Set up an altar (or a space on your altar) for your ideal client. Think of what you want want or wish for them and make offerings that represent that. Do you wish them inner peace? Try a feather, or some clear quartz. You get it. By visualizing your work as offerings, you align your actions with the intention to genuinely benefit your clients.
🧠 Practical Magic This is a great time to learn something new. Is there an article you can read? A class you can take? Start writing drafts of your content for the month. Rough outlines are fine — we’re not in editing energy just yet. Post-its on the wall, perhaps?
📝 Journal Prompts (internal work) Where do I imagine yourself by the next new moon? What have I learned?
Where do I imagine my client by the next new moon? What have they learned?
What daily actions can I take to make sure both these futures come true?
Don’t overwhelm yourself. Remember these actions can and should be imperfect.
🎨 Content Prompt (external share) Remember, your audience is also in a waxing crescent phase. Ask them (or suggest) which imperfect actions they can take to get closer to their intentions (emphasis on imperfect). Are you a dog trainer? Perhaps you can suggest five minutes a day training their new puppy. Whatever makes sense for you and your business.

🌗 First Quarter

This is a great editor energy. Remind yourself of your intention (light your sigil candle if you made one) and keep moving towards it. Discipline is a form of self-love that requires both practice and forgiveness.

🪄 Spell Work The moon is waxing, meaning that we can use that energy to draw things into ourselves. Like a nourishing inhale. Drink your morning coffee (or tea or other bev) with intention. With each sip, imagine both you and your audience on a staircase, taking one step closer to your intentions. You can do this for the entire waxing moon period.
🧠 Practical Magic Those blocks that you journaled about on the new moon? It’s likely a few of them have popped in their heads by now. Even the most well-laid plans need adjustments. Do that where you need to. It’s all part of the process. Also continue writing and editing your content. Where can you add more specific detail to your copy?
📝 Journal Prompts (internal work) How have things been going so far? Am I working towards my intention or do I need to make adjustments to my plan? (For example, if you set an intention to write daily Instagram posts, but they’re simply too much for your energy levels, try twice a week instead.) What other adjustments can I make in order to keep the forward momentum without losing steam?
🎨 Content Prompt (external share) Send a “it’s not your fault” email. For example, if you’re an art coach, explain how it’s not their fault that they don’t practice art daily. After all, society has taught us that you must have a “product” that makes money in order for efforts to be worthwhile. (All hail the side hustle, RIP the hobby.) Remind them that they must forgive themselves for not being “disciplined” in the past in order to build discipline now. Help them build trust in themselves again.

🌖 Waxing Gibbous

The stage curtain is 3/4 of the way off the ground and still rising. The audience can see you, but they don’t quite know what you’re going to do yet. The anticipation is palpable. Gather all you’ve been learning, and get ready to take up space — you deserve it.

🪄 Spell Work The harvest is just around the corner. Time to focus on abundance! I always love a good money spell around now. There are a lot of options out there so choose your fave. Personally, I love working with cinnamon. Sprinkle some cinnamon or place some cinnamon sticks in the soil of a money tree (or any plant. Work with what you have.) Bonus: it’s an anti-fungal for your plant bb!
🧠 Practical Magic Editing time! Is your copy/content the best it can be? Are you talking to your audience and inviting them into your world? Sometimes I like to print my most important copy and take a pen to it, but editing in your word document of choice is fine, too.
📝 Journal Prompts (internal work) How has my writing process been going so far? Are there ways I can make it more enjoyable for myself? (Writing should be fun!) Brainstorm ways to bring more play, creativity, and curiosity into your writing process.
🎨 Content Prompt (external share) Engage your audience with a sneak peek of your upcoming content. Share a teaser that sparks curiosity and builds anticipation. Ask for their thoughts or feelings to foster engagement and make them feel a part of the process.
